We know that parents often find taking their children to the dentist to be a challenge due a variety of issues including transportation and having to take time off from work. Thats why so many parents tell us how much they appreciate the ease and convenience of the in-school dentist, knowing that their childrens teeth are being kept healthy. Plus, kids are more comfortable seeing the dentist in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their school.

Each of our affiliated dentists are local and state licensed. They are assisted by licensed dental hygienists and/or professional dental assistants, and all are caring professionals devoted to providing children with the highest level of care.

We gladly accept Medicaid and CHIP as well as private insurance which almost always pay for 100% of treatment, so there is NO COST TO YOUR PARENTS. In addition, we offer a highly discounted self-pay option. For those without insurance or the means to pay, we are pleased to offer a grant program. NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO AN INABILITY TO PAY.

Our dream began back in 1997. We were dentists and friends and wanted to create a dental practice for those who could not easily get to a dental office. As both mothers and dentists, we knew how difficult it was to take our own children to the dentist while juggling busy schedules. Working from our kitchen tables a dental safety net for children was created.

The dream turned into a startling reality. At our very first in-school visit, it was quickly apparent that most of the children we served had never seen a dentist! About half the children treated had significant dental decay, almost all of which could have been prevented. The school staff knew we were needed. A child in pain cannot learn.

What has become clear over so many years of working in schools is the compassion of the nurses, teachers, social workers, principals and so many people who work tirelessly in schools to educate and nurture children. We are honored to work with all of the caring staff we encounter.

Over the years, through our partnerships with schools, millions of children have received dental care who otherwise would never have received it. With great pride and humility we are honored to make a difference in the lives of many children. Oral health is truly the gateway to overall health.

Additionally, I work part time in a private office in Westchester and in my free time I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my awesome dog Oreo, traveling and staying active. I love learning about space and growing up I wanted to be an astronaut.

My family has a long tradition of working with children. Both my parents were school teachers, and in the summer they ran day camps for kids, where I worked many summers as a camp counselor. My oldest daughter is a school guidance counselor and my youngest daughter lives in New York and works as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. Before working with Smile Pennsylvania, I was the school dentist in my township. I enjoy traveling to different schools throughout Pennsylvania along with the talented Smile Pennsylvania staff to help children who otherwise would not get the dental care they desperately need. A fun fact about myself I wrote comedy for radio shows and performed in a comedy group that did custom fit shows for companies, many in the health care industry.

Dentistry is a large part of my family history. My grandfather started his dental practice in 1920. My father began in 1950, and I began in 1981. My brother and sister are also both in the field. I graduated from Grove City College for undergrad, and the University of Pittsburgh for dental school. I completed my residency at Montefiore Hospital. Working for Smiles Programs directly fulfills my purpose for working in dentistry. My interests have always been to help people who have limited access to receiving quality dental care.

I became a dentist because my Godmother was a Pediatric Dentist. I admire her so much for how she made her little patients so comfortable and at ease. I said to myself in 8th grade That is so cool how she can help those babies feel so at ease. I love to walk along Chicago lakefront and now I am cycling.

I am a general dentist in the city of Los Angeles and I completed my dental education at the University of Southern California. I became a dentist because I enjoy both the Art and Science in the field. Furthermore, I enjoy patient interaction and providing care when needed. I joined Big Smiles because I enjoy working with the pediatric population and find it extremely rewarding. During my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Some of my hobbies include traveling, playing sports, hiking, going to the movies and relaxing by the beach. A fun fact about me is I make animal noises.

I always knew I wanted to be a dentist. My father was a dentist and I loved working at his office. I saw how much he helped people and how he was able to change lives by giving people the smiles they always wanted. Im married with 3 young boys. They are so fun and such a handful. They make me tired and grateful and fill my life with joy. I love backpack hiking up in the mountains.
