It is an honor and privilege to take care of my patients and their families. I have been on the other side of the chair, and I understand the vulnerability of the situation. I am passionate about listening and finding solutions that fit my patients needs, all in an environment that is stress free and non-judgmental.

Many of our patients are fortunate to have good genetics, and preventive care will keep them healthy forever. However, there are many who have complex dental problems, and when I can help them and improve their lives, it is an amazing experience.

Providing a treatment is always stimulating and motivating, but the relationships that develop with our team and our patients are the most rewarding. Here at Brandywine Dental Care, we measure success one patient, and one smile, at a time.

As a third generation dentist, I was able to see firsthand how my father treated his patients. I always loved to watch the way my grandfather and father discussed the advances in our profession. I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful profession that makes such a profound impact on peoples lives.

Originally from Coral Springs, FL, I attended Tulane University for my Bachelor of Science degree. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dentistry where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

I love being a dentist; it is fun and provides inspiration to improve all the time. The learning and innovation blows me away at times, and it is endless. Since graduating, I have taken many hours of advanced training in dental implants, Invisalign, CEREC, endodontics, and periodontics. I have also completed advanced levels and trained with some of the best dentists in our country and the world through the Hornbrook Group. This training includes all phases of cosmetic care, full-mouth reconstruction, and treatment of TMD.

While continuing education is mandated for licensure, my team and I are true CE junkies! Staying ahead of the curve and being innovative allows us to provide better care to our patients and it creates an amazing environment for my team.

I currently live just over the district line in Bethesda. My wife Tracy is a nurse and graduate of Georgetown University. We have three wonderful children; Samantha is 16 and our twins, Emma and Katherine, are 13. Our golden doodle named Max keeps us all company at home. I love spending time with my wife and kids, and am involved in my childrens schools and with their recreational activities. Im a huge Washington Capitals, Nationals, and Redskins fan, and love fishing, boating, skiing, and going to Bethany Beach in my free time.

I have had amazing mentors and coaches during my life, and I feel like it is my duty to be engaged with the community. I have volunteered on mission trips to El Salvador and taught at the dental school while I was there. Closer to home, I volunteer at my children's school for STEM Projects, career fairs, and coaching softball.

Dr. Ivan Stangel, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, has spent most of his career in academics at McGill University as a teacher, researcher, and clinician. While at McGill, he worked on developing new materials that strongly bond white filling materials to teeth, one of which has now been commercialized.

Dr. Stangel came to the Washington area via a sabbatical leave at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and enjoyed the area so much that he wound up remaining. Dr. Stangel is an expert in dental materials, and applies that expertise to his practice of restorative dentistry.

Dr. Stangel continues his research on developing new technologies for dentistry. He is well published, gives lectures to dental groups, and is a member of an editorial board of a prestigious journal in the dental field.

Dr. Lomke received his B.S. in biology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011 and was then awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2015, graduating near the top of his class.

Following graduation, Dr. Lomke spent almost four years working in Connecticut under the guidance of a nationally renowned and awarded cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitation dentist. During that time, Dr. Lomke was able to hone his skills with respect to smile makeovers, veneers, and other complex and cosmetic dental treatments.
