You can expect to have a firm understanding of every procedure you undergo at Mt. Pleasant Family Dental because Dr. Thompsons ultimate goal is to have you involved in every step of the way.
At Mt. Pleasant Family Dental, expect to be treated uniquely and with your chief complaint in mind. Dr. Thompson believes every patient is different and must be treated to their individual needs and wants. Growing up with a mother that suffered from dental anxiety and a lack of consistent dental care, Dr. Thompson witnessed his mom lose teeth and thus lose confidence in her smile. A factor that inspired Dr. Thompson to become a dentist was watching his mom rebuild her self esteem and smile proudly when she got her first set up removable dentures.
Dr. Thompson enjoys cooking, jogging, and spending quality time with family. When he is not in the dental office working hard to make your experience a fantastic one, you can find him taking his puppy, Rocki out for a good time at one of DCs local dog parks. At the age of 17, Dr. Thompson had the life-changing opportunity to visit Quito, Ecuador for 6 weeks in a high school immersion program learning about various social justice issues that the indigenous of Ecuador were fighting for. In Ecuador, Dr. Thompson gained a love and appreciation for the Latin-American culture and enjoyed learning the Spanish language, although he admits he has a lot of work to do. He also learned a great deal about hard work, community-involvement, and how much he loved Yuca! Having attended Howard University, one of the top Dental Schools in the country that prides itself on community service, Dr. Thompson enjoys giving back and serving as often as possible. Below are photos of Dr. Thompson in his element, practicing his craft and serving those in need.
